Inspired by musical storytellers such as Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling, and Mitski, Kalyani's songs are painted expressions of the heart on her sleeve. She marries imagistic lyrics and dark, haunting indie folk instrumentation with dynamic, soaring vocals. Best listened to while drinking black tea, casting spells, lying in the grass, or dancing alone in a crowded room.
